Do you want to bath in the sun ? Ibiza is a fabulous destination to relax. What can you see in Ibiza? Punta Moscarter Lighthouse: For a relatively small island like Ibiza it’s amazing how remote and wild the northern tip can feel. This part of the island has pine forest, farmland and a coastline scattered with little holiday communities clustered around coves that cut deep into the coastline. For something a bit different, put on a pair of sturdy shoes and walk the cliff-top trail from Portinatx to the lighthouse. It was built in the 70s and at 52 metres is the tallest man-made structure on the island. The trek through pine scrub and juniper is a bit of a challenge, but the photos you can take from the headland here make it all worthwhile.
The resort of Cala Llonga boasts a wide and sandy white beach, views over a beautiful bay and even hills covered in pine trees to frame the scenery. This is perhaps the most family-oriented place to visit in Ibiza, which means that you’ll find plenty of families with young children in the area. The main beach even offers a playground and a miniature amusement park to keep kids having fun throughout the vacation. Cala Llonga is also situated just 10 minutes from Ibiza Town, which means you can easily head away from the beach and explore the historic attractions any time.
The Museu d’Art Contemporani features some major internationally renowned artists and really punches above its weight in terms of quality for such a small island. The permanent collection of Antoni Mari Ribas, one of the most prolific painters born in Ibiza, is well worth a browse, along with a spectacular collection of posters from nearby Carl van der Voort Gallery. Temporary exhibits are excellent too, including most recently a stunning collection of designs by the LOEWE fashion house. The historic building has been beautifully restored with glass floors laid over an archeological site making for an enjoyable stroll around some fantastic curations.
Did you know that Ibiza is home to multiple UNESCO World Heritage sights?? One of them being Ibiza Old Town (Dalt Vila)! Drag yourself away from the beach and explore it. Old Town is filled with cobblestone streets, castles, 14th-century cathedrals, stone statues, canons, and Gothic architecture. Put the phone away and take a walk through town. You’ll find tons of hidden gems and narrow alleyways filled with cute restaurants and shops. Plus, you’ll learn a lot about Ibiza’s ancient history (it’s way more than a party island!). Word to the wise: don’t wear sandals while exploring Old Town. Those cobblestone streets are gnarly!
